S'Wonderful

Submitted for your consideration: WONDER VISION!

Isn't that a riot? I get handed this at one of the Metros now and then. I love how Stevie is, at long last, freed from the darkness. Free at last, free at last!

In other news:
  • Cat-O peed in the tub this morning. Uh-oh.
  • Someone stole ALL my umbrellas. I kept them in a brass pot on the landing outside our front door. They have been there for TWO YEARS. The whole mess o' them disappeared last night. Crap kid umbrellas. Nice new IKEA umbrellas. The umbrella I bought at Crate & Barrel last summer. Who would take ALL my umbrellas?

Well some horrible bumperchute thief or is that bumpershoot? Anyhow they could have at least left you ONE!!

It has been windy with gusts up to 40 mph here today... Grey and awful but whenever I even entertain the thought of not going out into the bleakness to the gym I think, "Hey Amanda has to go out in the Moscow snow so stop being a baby and go already!"and then I have new courage and go... Today I actually bench pressed!! Would you EVER HAVE DREAMED I WOULD EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT MEANT???

Anyhow I have a 2 day reprieve until Saturday when I go back... M/W/Sat is my schedule and I am actually not minding it which seems totally weird to me!

Stay safe and warm! And go buy some new umbrellas! xov

I had an umbrella thief who kept taking them from in front of my apartment in New York. So I filled a small phial with india ink and taped it, uncorked, to the umbrella shaft with the umbrella folded around it. Then I carefully left the booby-trapped rig in the umbrella stand. Next rainy day it was gone. But ever after my umbrellas remained unstolen!

Like the india ink idea.

When my daughter was in college, she had baked a batch of muffins and left them cooling in the dorm kitchen. Some snatched them. She then baked another batch with an added ingredient - Ex Lax. She left those to cool and they were snatched. Bet the snatcher spent quite a bit of time in the bathroom. I thought that was so funny.

How is your husband?

Husband is good. Went to the gym yesterday. Went back to dr today for second round of blood work/check up. Has a lung scan scheduled for next Wednesday. But he's feeling normal, aside from being tired of having to deal with all these check ups. It's tedious and the EMC can't figure out how to bill him, yadda yadda yadda. We want to switch him back to the GP across the street for this maintenance stuff.

glad to hear spouse is doing better! I was just thinking about leaving the stroller outside our door in an effort to avoid the muddy snow puddle in the entry - hmmm think I will keep it in the apartment. I wonder if you will see someone walking around with one of your umbrellas?

One umbrella was a HOW DO YOU DO . . . MOSCOW one! Rather unique. As was the Crate & Barrel one.

What the hell? Is there a big black market for umbrellas there?

One of the things I luved about living in Tokyo was the communal aspect regarding umbrellas. They were sold in vending machines and kiosks for no money, left lying around street corners and various places. It was great! Totally commie, all the same, and basically free during the rainy season.

Who would want to steal umbrella's? How odd.
I wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog way back when!

I read an article about the megical mechanical properties of umbrellas. I think they will be melted down and made into Lada parts... I have eventually found time and internet signal to stop and say hi....hi. Have a great week x
