Skittles is ALWAYS being sent to the school nurse. I mean, it is at least a weekly experience.
Recently, she was hit on the head with a pétanque ball. She brought it up as we were walking to the Metro after school in an "Oh, by the way . . ." manner.
But the kid had a goose egg on her head the size of a . . . well, the size of a pétanque ball.
She was sent to the school nurse who, as usual, said "It's nothing," and sent her back to class.
Today, she was inventorying her various injuries.
"See this?" she said, pointing to her skinned knee. "When I got this, I was sent to the school nurse."
"How did that go?" I asked.
"Oh, she looked at it and said, 'What's YOUR name? Seems everyone else has been to see me, but I don't think I've ever met you.'"
Un-fucking-believable.

Poor Skittles with her episodes w/the school nurse.
I am down and out as I came down with shingles this weekend. Fri. went by ambulance from my doctor's office with intense back pain and high BP. BP came down to normal and meds helped with the back pain.
Poor Skittles! We'll have to get her a purple heart! She does love purple doesn't she?

I hate indifferent people.
When I was like 10 years old, I had terrible pain in my stomach. So I went to school's nurse office. She didn't do anything and didn't say much except - "go to the toilet". So I went back to class. But what I remember about it is that nurse couldn't care less, complete indifference!
Year earlier I spent 3 weeks in hospital, all doctors and nurses were great. So maybe school nurses are different breed.
